New video from Мох (psychedelic pop, lo-fi)
Мох (Mokh in latin transcription) is a path-breaking project by Soltsetsevety artistic group. The group deals with inventing pop music of the future intending to break into a new age and change the course of time.
Mokh is a waking dream. It's an instinctive whisper produced by the turbulent consciousness waving in the self-generated pink sound torrents. It's floating in a unhasting liquid manner through the sparkling cloud of the contemporary world.

Artist: The Winter War In Tibet Title: Eurasia Deluxe #ca341 Date: 2009-12-11 Keywords: improvisation; psychedelic rock; kraut rock; post rock; ambient; shoegazing; minimal; experimental; drone; avant-garde (320 kbps)
"Magical music on "Eurasia" is full of apprentice's patience, unruffled cal and Buddhist leniency towards all living beings. We hear insisde ourselves what is there and take it as it is". Simply speaking, they are playing the air and aren't being in a stew. The most important discipline of The Winter War In Tibet is the lightness and naturalness - the lightness and naturalness of running water.
Band THE WINTER WAR IN TIBET was formed in 2008 in Minsk, Belarus. This is collaboration of musicians from Minsk groups BOGOMATER’ CVETOV (FLOWERMOTHER), URLA MAKABRA, INSUMTHINMAGMA, CHILDREN OF ISHIZUKE TREE, THE SHAPE, SANGIITA SHUNAKA and SNEZHINKI. A distinctive feature of the band’s music are the sound experimentation and improvisations at the junction of ethnic, rave and rock. Band’s name comes from the similar book written by Swiss writer Friedrich Durrenmatt. THE WINTER WAR IN TIBET has made its debut at the opening of the international festival “Kamen” («Камень») in Minsk in October 2008, accompanying Damo Suzuki, the world-known vocalist of cult German kraut-rock band CAN. In 2009 the band recorded about 20 improvisatory releases. Contact: http://www.lastfm.ru/music/The+Winter+War+in+Tibet

We are always enchanted by artists who can take an instrument out of predictable context and create a whole new way of looking at its function. This is also significant to mandolinists who seek to push the boundaries of its capabilities, and more traditional roles.
We found some great out-of-the box thinking and musical inspiration in this video from minimalists Bethany & Rufus, in their interpretation of the folk classic, Nine Hundred Miles. Bethany Yarrow, daughter of Peter Yarrow of folk legends Peter, Paul & Mary, is joined by ground-breaking cellist Rufus Cappodicia in this enthralling performance. We've enjoyed researching their other CD discography and YouTube entries.
We haven't figured out whether to label this "Techno Cello" or "Folk Trance." Nonetheless, it's terrific. |

Artist: Evgeny Grinko Title: Cold Spaces #ca339 Date: 2009-12-06 Keywords: electronic; minimalist; melodic; melancholic; experimental (320 kbps)
I've been writing this album for 2 years - from 2007 to august 2009. different ideas of the sound of the type were born in my mind during this time so now it's difficult to say if it helped this album to sound complete or not. Also it's hard to name the style of the album - it could be electronic, IDM or techno mixed with the orchestral instruments (the second part of album is full of monotonous rhythms mixed with melodic pictures of orchestral instruments) it's not so easy to speak about these records... I've just wanted to make music.
Evgeny Grinko aka is best known for his work as a drummer for several Moscow-based underground bands, namely Magical Unicellular Music, Monroe's Pills, and WOGULOW TAROUTZ VERMO. Contact: http://www.myspace.com/evgenygrinko

Just got the news:
105.9 WXDX Pittsburgh will be spinning the song Monster In Me by Wreckcreation for their Local Listen segment tonight (Dec. 4th 2009) sometime between 9 and 10 PM. This marks the third time (that we're aware of) that Wreckcreation has been played on a mainstream terrestrial radio station.
This delights us as you don't hear much industrial rock (let alone unsigned bands) on these types of channels. As such we are asking all of our online and real life friends and fans to send an e-mail to or call up the station and tell them how much you enjoy it.
As a bonus for you all we have a couple tracks, including Monster In Me, available for free download at http://www.wxdx.com/new2/artists/i/251106
Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer
In other news Wreckcreation is proud to announce that a special remix of Incomplete Me (personally my favorite song off the album) will appear exclusively on the Industrial Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer box set as the first track on the digital disc 5 on Metropolis Records.
For those of you living under a rock, the Industrial Saviors compilation is the brainchild of Rein[Forced] frontman (and local G/I deejay) Jim Semonik. In May 2008 Jim was diagnosed with cancer. Through the chemo, surgery, and recovery process he not only kept a fantastic attitude but has continued to put on and produce industrial concerts and events in the Pittsburgh area, and helping bands like Wreckcreation.
From the Metropolis website: "Cancer has taken many loved ones away from us. Metropolis Records, in association with Distortion Productions presents a five disc box set of exclusive tracks by some of the biggest names in the industrial genre to raise money for cancer research. Cancer survivor and long time promoter and DJ, Jim Semonik has assembled 83 artsits from around the world. The boxset includes 4 cds and a downloadable 5th disc when you purchase the physical edition.
This compilation contains 83 tracks in total, including new exclusive tracks and mixes by Combichrist, 16 Volt, Assemblage 23, Suicide Commando, Noisuf-X, Chemlab, Cesium 137, Stromkern, Imperative Reaction, Rein[Forced], System Syn and many more. Packaged in a DVD style digipak containing the four physical CDs and the dropcard for the “Bonus Medication” disc 5 digital download. Proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for Cancer Research and Wellness
-Limited Edition of 2500 copies."
As you can see, this compilation is huge, its for a great cause and its been orchestrated by a great friend and human being. Further info on how to obtain this box set can be found in the links below.
Thank you all for your support and we can't wait to see you guys live in 2010!

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, in conjunction with Aurora Communications, Inc., presents a special holiday event, NAVIDAD PARA EL PUEBLO, a Christmas celebration featuring the unique jíbaro music from the mountains of Puerto Rico on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 8pm. The concert will feature the King of the Cuatro and Fania All-Star legend YOMO TORO, whose parrandas have become a Lehman holiday tradition. Also featured will be the Bob Dylan of Puerto Rican folk music, singer, songwriter and poet "EL TOPO" ANTONIO CABAN VALE. The parranda is the Puerto Rico Christmas serenading tradition of musicians surprising friends and relatives during the season with festive music at night. The blending of Spanish decimas (ten-line stanzas), African percussion and rhythms, and Indian guiros and maracas created plenas, bombas and aguinaldos ("gifts"), which descended from the Spanish Christmas carol. These songs were the first lyrical expression of Puerto Rican culture -- stamped with an indelible Boricua seal. Rich in themes, celebratory in spirit, these tunes and dances express the folk wisdom of the jibaro through refrains, legends, superstitions, customs and traditions.
Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is on the campus of Lehman College/CUNY at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, Bronx, NY 10468. Tickets for NAVIDAD PARA EL PUEBLO on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 8pm, are: $45, $40, $35 and $30 and can be purchased by calling the Lehman Center box office at 718.960.8833 (Mon. through Fri., 10am–5pm, Tues. 10am-7pm, and beginning at 12 noon on the day of the concert), or through 24-hour online access at www.LehmanCenter.org. Lehman Center is accessible by #4 or D train to Bedford Park Blvd. and is off the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Major Deegan Expressway. Free on-site parking is available. |
